Description
Breathtaking views, lush alpine meadows, and fresh herbs characterize the summer retreat of our Lipizzaner mares on the idyllic Brendlalm. Surrounded by an impressive mountain landscape, they enjoy peace, freedom, and optimal conditions for a healthy stay on the alpine pasture.
The varied and partially uneven terrain specifically enhances their sure-footedness and strengthens tendons and ligaments—an essential foundation for their long-term physical development.
Join one of our guided alpine tours and experience this unique alpine setting firsthand. Get to know our mares in their summer home, gain fascinating insights into their life on the mountain pasture, and be inspired by the exceptional atmosphere of the Brendlalm.

Brendlalm is situated approximately 20 km from the Piber Stud Farm. Visitors are responsible for their own transportation, so please plan your trip accordingly. From the parking area at the Gleinalm Shelter (accessible only via Übelbach, with parking available at Hoyer), a roughly 30-minute hiking trail leads to the stables. Please be aware that this path must be traversed independently.
Hiking trail to the starting point: BERGFEX
HIKE FROM ÜBELBACH
From the market town of Übelbach to Krautwasch (parking area). Here, a well-marked hiking trail begins (approx. 9 km) with moderate ascents and descents. From the starting point, it takes about 2.5 hours to reach the Gleinalm Shelter, which is only open from mid-May to September.
HIKE FROM THE SHELTER
From the market town of Übelbach to Neuhof and on to the barrier (Hoyer parking area). The barrier is opened by the head forester at around 7:30 a.m. and closed again at 7:00 p.m. The route continues along a forest road of approximately 5 km leading to the shelter. While the road is in good condition, it is still a forest road. For this reason, please drive slowly and with caution!
