Survival in turbulent times

"With the book, we want to show that especially in times of upheaval on all political, economic and social levels, tradition can change and adapt if its spirit remains strong. Just as is in the case of the unique Spanish Riding School,” says Sonja Klima.

On just a few pages, meticulous research describes the history of the Riding School from its very beginnings, of its rescue from Russian seizure after World War II, to its rise to World Heritage status and to the internationally acclaimed cultural ambassador of Austria. This is supplemented with all the important facts about the breeding and training of the Lipizzaners and stories about how the horses change to white and for which very special visitor a separate toilet was built at the Piber stud farm while her stay of just a few hours.
