The Training Centre Heldenberg for visitors

On the tour through the stables, visitors can discover interesting facts about the history of the Lipizzans: the breed, breeding, naming and other details about the oldest cultural horse breed. A unique opportunity to see the Spanish Riding School’s young stallions up close in the boxes or in the open paddocks. Public tours take place at the following times: Tuesday to Friday 11am and 2pm, Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays 11am, 2pm and 3pm; duration of each tour approx. 45 min. There is also the opportunity to visit the training/morning exercise session in the riding hall: in summer every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 10.30am to 11am. There is no training during summer stables (start of July to mid-August).

And once a year the former Habsburg monarchy’s prized white horses present the “Haute Ecole” of dressage at their summer residence on the Heldenberg. Before these exquisite animals begin their well-earned summer break, the stallions put on a very special performance: the Spanish Riding School’s “white ballet” presents classical dressage in the Renaissance tradition of the “Haute Ecole” in the open air.

And for children there is the children’s discovery tour, which they can ride along on a hobby horse. This stimulating and educational walking tour is suitable for pushchairs and tells the story of the Lipizzan stallion Neapolitano Sessana, from birth to training at Heldenberg. At each station you have to answer a question and then stick the correct horseshoe sticker on your horse game card. As a reward for answering all the questions correctly, a lucky Lipizzan horseshoe nail awaits you in the shop.
