THE CHIEF RIDERS
Only very few members of the equestrian team achieve the rank of a Chief Rider. Whilst it goes without saying that this position requires outstanding riding abilities, qualities such as empathy, understanding, the ability to convey knowledge to others, self-discipline and leadership skills are essential.
The Chief Riders of the past were all exceptional personalities, for whom the Spanish Riding School was far more than simply a place to practise classical horsemanship; they dedicated their time and efforts to keeping the age-old skills and traditions alive and ensured that they were handed down to the next generation intact.
