23.10.2008 - The Spanish Riding School Vienna hosts its First Fund Raising Gala

Lifetime Achievement Award and Gala Performance in Honour of Alvaro Domecq

For both the riders and Lipizzaners of the Spanish Riding School and the riders with their Andalusian stallions from Alvaro Domecq’s private estate in Spain, this joint performance was unique in the history of both establishments. Alvaro Domecq was awarded the Silver Honorary Medal of the Spanish Riding School by Federal Minster Josef Pröll and the Spanish Ambassador H.E. Jose Maria Pons Irazazabal.

For this year’s Fund Raising Dinner the courtyard of the Stallburg was transformed into a stylish event location with a great deal of passion for detail. 1.000m2 of black carpets were put down, 8 crystal chandeliers and a unique lighting concept made this evening an unforgettable experience.

08.10.2009 - The Spanish Riding School Fund Raising Gala 2009

"Girls, Girls, Girls"

This year ladies were the centre of attention: for the first time in 25 years ladies performed in the Spanish Riding School. Star guest was Victoria Max-Theurer, 4 times Austrian National Champion in Dressage and daughter of Olympic Champion Sissy Max-Theurer. She rode an outstanding solo performance on her successful gelding Agrigento accompanied by a medley of songs from Udo Jürgens. She also took part in the Quadrille with a total of 8 riders – four ladies and four Chief Riders of the Spanish Riding School. The other three female riders are also well-known in the dressage world: Evelyn Haim-Swarovski, Eva-Maria Bachinger and Nina Stadlinger. All four “girls” are successful Austrian dressage riders.

Once again this year’s Gala was sold out! 560 paying guests enjoyed not only the Gala performance in the Winter Riding School but also the subsequent Dîner in the incomparable Renaissance courtyard of the Stallburg. The huge pink carpet with orange strips (1000m²) and the over 50 tables decorated with pink, orange and red table clothes and matching flowers were a treat for the eyes!
