On the occasion of the Fête Impériale on July 10th, 2010, His Excellency, Dr. Badr Mohamed Zaher AL HINAI presented Federal Minister Niki Berlakovich with an elaborate bridle from his native country.

The world famous singer-actress Olivia Newton-John specifically wanted to visit the Spanish Riding School during her trip to Vienna on the occasion of the Pink Ribbon Gala at the end of September 2010.

2010/08/16 — ECOTRACK is the new surface in the baroque Winter Riding School
For one week bucket excevators instead of horses could be seen in the world’s most famous riding hall. For the first time in the 275 year old history of the Winter Riding School the ridingground was completely removed and replaced. Until now the sawdust-sand-mixture was only refilled.
2010/07/13 — Piber meets Vienna
Whilst the famous white Lipizzaner stallions enjoy their summer break (from end of June) six brood mares and their young offspring (3 little colts and 3 little fillies) have come to Vienna bringing with them their light-hearted high spirits.

With the birth of Benvenuta’s filly on May 24th, this year’s foal season has successfully come to an end.
2010/04/21 — Festive opening of the new riding hall at the Training Centre Heldenberg – in the presence of Fede
In good spirits – despite changeable weather conditions – Federal Minister Niki Berlakovich and Lower Austria’ Governor, Erwin Pröll, opened the newly erected Riding Hall at Heldenberg together with the Directors of the Spanish Riding School and Heldenberg’s Mayor, Peter Steinbach. The new riding hall turns the Lipizzaners’ summer quarters into a state-of-the-art training centre.
2010/04/21 — The Spanish Riding School is dancing - the first imperial feast is taking place on July 10th
„Groß ist unser Erbe. Groß ist unsere Vision. Und groß ist unsere Verantwortung.“ Mit diesen Worten hat Dkfm. Elisabeth Gürtler die heutige Pressekonferenz zur Vorstellung der ersten Fête Impériale eröffnet. Jene Dame, die jahrelang mit viel Fingerspitzengefühl den Wiener Opernball geleitet hat, bittet am 10. Juli 2010 erstmals zu einem Ball für die Lipizzaner in die wohl schönste Ball-Location Wiens.
2010/04/09 — Federal Stud Piber: The 3rd colt of this year has been born!
„This year the girls are in the lead” says a surprised Stud Manager, Max Dobretsberger. A total of 36 foals are expected this year and up until yesterday 12 fillies and only 2 colts have been born.

2010/03/11 — The Haute Ecole of Classical Dressage – the key cultural heritage of the Spanish Riding School
For more than 430 years the knowledge and expertise on classical horsemanship have been handed down verbally from one generation of riders to next. Since July 9th, 2009 Austria is a member state of the UNESCO with regard to the Intangible Cultural Heritage and therefore an application to be included in this list stood to reason.
2010/02/15 — Summer residence and training facility in Heldenberg
The expansion of the summer stable aims at providing new capacities for training more young Lipizzaner stallions in the Haute Ecole of Classical Dressage than has been possible so far.
2010/01/21 — Today is the day: 8 colts from Piber arrive at their new stables in the Vienna Stallburg
This year the arrival of the young lads from Piber was delayed by a couple of weeks as two youngsters suffered from a colic on the first attempt on January 5th and therefore the journey had to be postponed. But now they’re all fit as fiddles!

Feierlich wurde am 2. Juli 2009 im Rosentempel der Firma Micko, die erste Lipizzanerrose präsentiert. Taufpatin war niemand geringerer als Generaldirektorin der Spanischen Hofreitschule – Bundesgestüt Piber, Dipl.-Kfm. Elisabeth Gürtler.
