HELDENBERG
Lipizzaner Summer Quarters and Training Centre
Since the year 2005 the Lipizzaner stallions of the Spanish Riding School spend their well-earned summer break during the hot months of July and August at their summer quarters in Heldenberg (Kleinwetzdorf, District Hollabrunn, Lower Austria). State-of-the-art stables with spacious boxes and paddocks ensure that the horses receive the right amount of rest and relaxation from their training and performances in Vienna. The riders take them out on rides into the surrounding woods where they are gently and carefully exercised.
Due to the structural conditions in Vienna it is not possible to accommodate and train more than the 72 stallions currently stabled in the Stallburg. However, with the expansion of our summer quarters into a modern training centre we will be able to increase the number of stallions we intend to school and at the same time we will be able to increase the quality of our training regime.
